Poetic Biography (Po.Bio)

Born in the city
Raised in the country
use to catch crayfish in the river bed
picked pecans, blackberries and crab apples…

fast forward

feet toured war-torn countries
poor, sick, young, old, all
out-castes with unheard demands
from a system designed
for a purpose which only
political elite and the rich understand …

fast forward

now fingers seek to leverage
what the keepers of knowledge
in the halls of learning taught,
translate the world into words
a world as only these eyes perceive
give voice to a sea of so many still lost.
