Mother’s Day 2015

blackmothers3

TiMe…may ChAnGe but
yOuR LoVe
reMiaNs tHe SaMe…

—–flashback——
since the day when
small kicks beneath
layers of flesh
delivered three…

small hands and feet and
hunger pains and lack of
money and job with crazy hours
and unmet needs and
well-worn shoes traveled miles
but soon acquisition of home and
car and clothes and…

life was not a cup of tea,

——-fast-forward——-
no struggle, nor man
nor disease, nor
near death accident
could separate you from three
now large hands and feet…

your smile has never diminished
and your wisdom continues to grow
it is with great pleasure I celebrate
a mother many could only hope to know.

Happy Mother’s Day Mom!
