What I Live For…

Is bigger than you and me
Is bigger than the heavens or the sea

I live my life like the freedom fighters,
Like the Malcolm Xs, the MLKs,
I live my life like the prophets,
Like Jesus in his last days…

in the service of others.

I don’t expect to receive,
I expect to give
Nothing tangible or material,
The intangible things give meaning
to the life I live…

What I live for?
Can’t be etched in stone
Can’t be printed in bold
What I live for
Can only be felt deep
within the soul.
